2010 Hallmark Awards

A highlight of our Annual All-Star Invitational is the presentation of the Hallmark awards for outstanding service to CBCC and our mission of raising funds for cancer patient care, education and research programs at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Children's Memorial Hospital.

Civic Award

Tim McGrail

Tim began working with the CBCC 6 years ago. Tim was the On-Premise Manager for Pepsi, America's (which was this year purchased by PepsiCo). Tim is now the Channel Manager for Restaurant Sales for the Mid-west Business Unit of Pepsi Beverage Company, a division of PepsiCo Prior to his 13 years with Pepsi, Tim worked for 7Up for 7 years in the Chicagoland Area. Tim has built upon the long standing relationship the CBCC has had with Pepsi by providing beverages on the course and a variety of gifts for our silent auction, raffle and door prizes. He joined the committee three years ago and has been an active member in the planning process of our annual golf event. Tim is also active in other organizations which include being on the Board of the Illinois Restaurant Association and a member of the Chicago Convention & Tourism Association. Tim is a Chicago guy going to St. Patrick's and then graduating from Northeastern Illinois University, with a BA in Marketing. He resides today in Plainfield with his wife Holly and three children Sarah, Katie and Kelly. Tim is appreciative to PepsiCo for all the opportunities his position allows him to be a part of and the CBCC is right at the top.

Executive Award

Richard J. Heinz, CPA

Rick has been a Certified Public Accountant specializing in Tax Planning and Compliance for closely-held businesses and their owners. His firm, Heinz and Associates has been in Claredon Hills for 19 years. Heinz and Associates has prepared Pro-Bono returned for numerous local non-profit organizations including Lions Club, 6 PTA's, Clarendon Hills Little League, and various other charitable organizations. Rick was actively involved as treasurer and board member for Girl Scouts of DuPage County for 8 years. An avid collector of sports memorabilia, Rick believes the CBCC Auction has been more fun than work over the past four years. Rick and his wife Dianna, raised $50,000 over a 2 years period from client's and friend's donations for the AVON 60 mile 3 day walk for Breast Cancer.

Executive Award

Bob Grim

In his 21st season as Senior Director of Business Development and Broadcasting with the Chicago White Sox, Grim's duties include acting as the day to day liaison with the Sox television and radio rights holders. He handles all aspects related to the television and radio, and also interacts with club broadcasters on a daily basis. He also deals with any issues related to licensing of club marks at retails, overseeing the marketing and promotion of two i-park custom T-Shirt shops as wel as any on-field issues pertaining to the team's Authentic Collection on-field apparel. He is also the liaison with MLB for the League schedule and game times, and one of the teams contacts for all MLB rules related to club marketing and broadcast rights Grim also oversees the Sox Alumni Association, while also handling all aspects of running the Sox Fantasy Camp. Prior to working for the White Sox, he served as Associate Athletic Director/ Media Relations Director at DePaul University, where he handled the marketing and promotion of the intercollegiate sports teams with major emphasis on the men's basketball program. Grim began his career working for Major League Baseball in their New York City Offices serving as a public relations administrator. A native New Yorker, and graduate of St. John's University where he majored in athletic administration, he was a member of the SJU baseball team that played in the 1978 College World Series. Two of his teammates while at St. John's were former major league pitchers, Frank Viola and John Franco. Bob resides in Arlington Heights with his wife Susanne and their four sons.

Marv Samuel Award

Mary Doesek

Mary Dosek serves as manager of community affairs for the Chicago Cubs, responsible for managing and implementing Cubs charitable and corporate outreach efforts. Mary leads Cubs charitable donation programs, Wrigley Field Tours and serves as the main liaison with Chicago Cubs alumni. Mary joined the community relations department in 1997 as a coordinator. Her contributions helped the team grant $1.1 million through Cubs Care a fund of the McCormick Foundation, to Chicago-area non-profit organizations in 2009. Prior to joining the Cubs, Mary was employed by the Chicago White Sox as an administrative assistant in finance and a secretary in public relations. Mary hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from DePaul University.
